Moving From The Piscean Age To The Aquarian AgeThe Shift from Ray 6 to Ray 7 Collectivelyby Deborah Graham
Shifts of consciousness occur on many levels from the personal to the collective. Observing these undercurrents assists in our daily transformation and detachment from these magnetic fields of thought.
There is variation of opinions as to when each of these ages begins and ends. However, there is greater consensus that overlapping periods exist where the consciousness fields of the ages are experienced. We are in such a time period where the old Piscean energies are struggling for continued dominance and the new Aquarian energies are working to take root.
The Piscean Age is governed by Ray 6, the ray of Devotion and Idealism. As one of its primary themes is duality, we can view its energies as two opposing triangles with a dotted circle of energy at the peak of each triangle, representing The One. With a strong focus on survival, achievement, and supremacy, The One became a process of acquiring the most—the most power, knowledge, land, etc.
In religion and life in general, we looked to The One to “save” us, to tell us what to think, and how to behave because of more perceived purity, power, and knowledge. However, with The One at the top, there is The One at the bottom due to the aspect of duality. The consciousness of the Piscean Age placed many in the position of The Evil One or the devil. The application of this behaviour is very apparent in today’s world, and a reference of the Evil d’jour (evil of the day), like the soup of the day, is revealing while laughable.
Dr. David Hawkins (author of the book, “Power Vs. Force”) is a forerunner in the education of the dissipation of duality. He offers a very simple yet subtle example of moving from duality to unity in inviting us to look for the one variable in any situation. Rather than focussing on the opposing factors, you can look to the unifying factor that connects rather than separates. An example given was that of two thermometers, one registered a colder temp and the other a warmer temp. What is the variable? Heat. Another simple one is a room that has lights on and one that is dark. The variable is light; one has more light and the other has less light.
We can further see the influences in a larger view with that of consciousness (awareness) in the Ages. The Aquarian Age offers openness, inclusiveness, and synthesis by widening the circumference of consciousness where the Piscean Age often kept secrets to “protect” the people (“what they don’t know won’t hurt them”).
A symbol for the Aquarian Age is the circle with a point at the centre representing the One within us. Points or dots can be added around the circle representing the many. We can share our talents and abilities by stepping into the centre to serve the many. It is governed by Ray 7, Ceremonial Order and Magic. Magic in this context means the ability to unify thoughts and actions, to integrate and synthesize through manifestation.
If we can build upon the love and wisdom of the Piscean Age rather than discarding its imperfections, we can develop from that devotion and thanksgiving and ease the transition into the Aquarian Age. We can pave the path with inspiration of the idealistic possibility and open to the elements of cooperation and unity.
This writing is offered in the spirit of contemplation to expand perceptions of current life events. To further that process, here are a few quotes from “Education In The New Age.” Page 119: The outstanding type of awareness of the coming new race will be the widespread recognition of the fact of the mystical perception. Its primary quality will be the intuitive development and control of energy; its contribution to the development of humanity is the transmutation of selfish desire into group love.
Page 122: In the coming world state, the individual citizen—gladly and deliberately and with full consciousness of all that he is doing—will subordinate his personality to the good of the whole.
The Piscean type of man is an idealist along some line of human development. The Aquarian type will take the new ideals and the emerging ideas and—in group activity—materialize them.
Page 124: It signifies a trend in the consciousness of humanity towards the fusion of the individual with the whole, without his losing, at the same time, his sense of individuality.
